The Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival is the largest wooden boat show in North America.
Because of DIFFICULTY FINDING LODGING, email GREG WALKER BEFORE JUNE 5th. He is working with the Festival Director to reserve rooms for us in one of the original barracks at FORT WORDEN STATE PARK.
Lodging details: dorm rooms are available in 2 or 3 night packages, Thur, Fri, Sat or Fri & Sat. They are basic, individual locking rooms; shared bathroom down the hall, shared kitchen and living room. About $100/ night, everyone in the dorm is there for the festival! Three different room styles: Single twin bed, two twin beds, full & twin bed. Complete info: Fort Worden Dorms. If you're displaying your boat, set up is Thursday.
Featuring hundreds of wooden vessels, dozens of indoor and outdoor presentations and demonstrations, a who’s who of wooden boat experts, and thousands of wooden boat enthusiasts—there’s something to do, someone to meet, or a boat to board at every turn.
Wooden Boat Is the very detailed website of other places to stay, activities, boat application, etc.
Our board member Greg Walker last summer displayed his boat on its trailer on "Runabout Row", and enjoyed the show tremendously. He's working with the Festival Director who is very interested in expanding that area, hoping our boats become a regular feature.
You APPLY DIRECTLY at Wooden Boat to register your boat (with trailer). Set-up is THURSDAY, cost is $120 for three day show. PLEASE also email GREG or call so he can help the Festival director to plan "Runabout Row" and organize our club display. Thank you!
